Hello! I assume that you're reading this post because you're curious as to the purpose of this blog. Well, there is more than one clue in the title. Obviously this acts as a diary for me to document my experiences as a student teacher. I want to be an elementary teacher, and as part of my education I am placed in different local classrooms to gain some real-life experience working with children. The reason I made this blog is so I can remember and share my adventures (and misadventures) with others. Hopefully there are some other teachers-in-training who can learn a few things from my experiences and mistakes. Hopefully there are some experienced teachers who can share some of their knowledge and advice with me. Hopefully I will make it through this semester in one piece!

Another clue that might be gleaned from the blog title is that this diary is, well, secret. Ish. Secret-ish. Sharing my stories with the world seems to be the exact opposite of being secret. If anyone can see it, everyone can see it! But on the other hand, I'm not sharing any pertinent personal information that would allow readers to figure out my identity or exact location.

So check back here every so often - I'll update with a new hilarious/horrifying/humiliating story every week. Until next time...

I think your blog sounds very interesting. I enjoy stories and the way they unfold over time. I think you will provide an interesting insight into student teaching. I look forward to seeing where you take the stories and how detailed you will be with the experiences you write about.
ReplyDeleteMy mom is a teacher and I've been hearing her stories for years. If your experiences are anything like hers, I will definitely be waiting to see what you come up with. Through this I hope you grow into the teacher you want to be. I can't wait for what's to come! -- Charity
ReplyDeleteLike Charity, I come from a family of teachers. From what I hear, you're going to have an interesting but rewarding semester. I have a lot of respect for teaches. The hard work and dedication that they have often goes unnoticed. I wish you the best of luck and I look forward to hearing your stories.
ReplyDeleteIt will certainly be interesting to follow your journey this semester through this blog. The "out of order" photo is interesting. Is this how you will feel at the end of a long day teaching? Looking forward to future posts!
ReplyDeleteI have a few teachers as friends and boy some of their stories are entertaining. Good thing you won't use personal details, I've heard of teachers getting into trouble because of blogs in the past. Nice map of Middle Earth, I don't know if that means you're a fantasy reader and Tolkien follower like I am or just want to make the readers feel lost. Anywho, good luck with the blog, looking towards posts of yours in the future.
ReplyDeleteI like the fact that you are referring to this blog as a diary, "to document your experiences." That right there makes me want to come back later and experience those experiences with you. It lets the reader know that this is going to be an ongoing dialogue, or story. The "About this Blog" section is short, but to the point. I feel that there is a good grasp as to what your blog is going to be about without a lot of text to read through. Nice.
